HOW YOU CAN HELP

Krystle needs You

Organizing a drive is by far the best way to help Krystle find a donor, and as a bonus, each drive can add dozens or even hundreds of new potential donors to the database — meaning your efforts will help countless more find a match.

Plus, it’s REALLY EASY!

Bethematch.org is dedicated to helping anyone host a drive, and the test only takes a few minutes and a Q-tip-like swab inside the cheek.

Contact Suzy Delgado (her sister) for more information 323-459-4776 or suzydelgado1@gmail.com

Where to organize a drive:
– In your city or town (we can help you pick potential locations)
– At your workplace
– A table at any private or public event that’s already been planned (setting up a swab table is easy!)
– At churches or other Filipino/Hispanic cultural centers

-COLLEGE CAMPUSES ARE ALSO GREAT!!!

COME ON! GET UP AND DO SOMETHING!

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE DREAM CENTER

23 Apr

We had such a an amazing weekend at the DREAM CENTER!

We approached some folks at the Dream Center about hosting a bone marrow drive at one of the Sunday services, and WOW, the event was bigger and better than anything we could have asked for.  The staff and volunteers completely took the event and ran with it.  They took two of our videos and created a new one to show the congregation and they gave me an opportunity to speak at the Sunday services as well.  The turnout was more than we were prepared for the first weekend we were there adn htey allowed us to come back for a second!

When God blesses you, He doesn’t just give you a little bit, His blessings are bigger and better than anything we could imagine and this event was just that.

I know that when Dad shared the story with Krystle she was truly touched as well, so we continue to march on!  We are on a mission to save lives and we will not stop or slow down until we find Krystle’s match!

Thank you to all of the TEAM KRYSTLE volunteers who came out to help make the drives a success.  Without you, it would not be possible!!

I cannot wait to hear about new lives being saved!

BUSY BUSY WEEKEND FOR TEAM KRYSTLE!!

12 Apr

Hello everyone!

I am sorry it has been a while since the last post, I started school and doing more drive organizing so it has been crazy!

Krystle went in this monday for her third round of chemo.  When I spoke to her on the phone today she sounded so good and upbeat.  I asked her how the chemo was treating her body and she said she doesn’t feel too different just really tired.  She really does amaze me sometimes!  God is definitely upholding her.  Let’s keep our prayers strong and frequent!  We are still searching for a donor match and looking at chord blood matches as well, so we will see what treatments open up for her!

Boy oh Boy do we have a HUGE weekend in store!!

Project Race is sponsoring a drive up in Los Banos, CA.  They have nurses on board and have been advertising all over!  Thank you Susan for all of your hard work!Image

Aunty Barbara and Uncle Gary organized a drive at their home church: Abundant Living Family Church in Rancho Cucamonga.  They host an annual Health and Wellness Fair and there will be a booth set up there!Image

AND THIS SUNDAY, DREAM CENTER IN LOS ANGELES WILL BE HOSTING A BONE MARROW DRIVE IN KRYSTLE’S HONOR AFTER THEIR SECOND SERVICE THIS SUNDAY.  THEY HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF SOCILA MEDIA OUTREACH AND I WILL BE SPEAKING AT THE SERVICE TO SHARE A LITTLE BIT ABOUT KRYSTLE’S STORY!  THEY HAVE BEEN SO AMAZING TO WORK WITH!

There is so much more still in the works, we have a drive coming up at SIPA, and a few more churches… The wheels are still turning non-stop here at TEAM KRYSTLE.  She is so appreciative of everyone who is putting thier time and energies into making these bone marrow drives happen!

Update on Krystle

21 Mar

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted, but I have just started a new position at Be the Match at City of Hope working to get new people (college students) onto the registry!  I told Krystle that she is my new boss!

I just wanted to give you all a short update on this past week.  It was definitely a rough one, probably the roughest since she was first diagnosed.  (SHE IS FINE NOW).  But, she went in last Monday the 12th, for a regular blood draw, and noticed that there was some swelling in her face.  The doctors weren’t sure what it was, so they decided to admit her until they had a concrete diagnosis.  She didn’t get assigned a room until after 11 pm, so it was an extremely long day, but of course she was staying strong!

Throughout the week, they ran all kinds of tests and biopsies and what not.  They thought it was a few things, but finally on Thursday they were able to determine that she had an infection called Apergillus (forgive me for the mispelling).  They switched up her medications and within  hours her swelling started to go away.  Another thing we were waiting for was for her white blood cells to go up as well and OVER NIGHT her counts shot up to 3 out of 4!  As of yesterday they said that she might be able to get out on Friday! PRAISE THE LORD!

We appreciate everyone’s support and prayers, it is truly what has kept Krystle and everyone going strong!

Take a look at our calendar and our video section!  It gets updated periodically!

Remember we are always looking for new drives to host! So if you belong to a church, work, go to school… or host any event.. let us know and we can make it happen! GO TEAM KRYSTLE!

Love you all dearly.
